Plot Summary


Bullets tare through the window of a local restaurant. Two men working on solving a puzzle in the restaurant escape through the kitchen. The waiter (Jordan Calibri) finds a note with cryptic writing between the seat and the wall.
We learn more about Jordan. We see that Jordan has a deep fear of taking on risk. This fear stops him from leaving his job. The fear stops him from going to college. The fear stops him from doing anything interesting with his life.
Jordan starts solving the puzzle putting together the clues written on the napkin using Google to piece together missing pieces. When several teams of assassins storm the waiter's home, he escapes down the alleyway. A car slides to a halt in front of him. The driver (Beverly Carter) commands "Get in!" Jordan makes a split-second decision, and they race away together.
At Beverly's hideout, she teaches Jordan some basics about how to survive in the new world. She teaches him what she knows about the puzzle pieces and their creator. She demonstrates what happens when a digital image is made of the puzzle. She makes clear the desire for all to solve the last puzzle piece, and she offers to help. Jordan accepts her help. Together, they discover that the puzzle is the name of a prominent politician.
Jordan becomes curious about the money. He helped solve the mystery, but they did not unlock the prize money. Jordan learns that to solve the puzzle, the target must be assassinated. Beverly intends to collect. Jordan starts working against Beverly to save the politician's life. Jordan faces his first big risk: living in the world without Beverly's protection.
When Jordan and Beverly split, Jordan seeks shelter with new friends. He must now hide from Beverly as well as the rest of the world. He turns to an Uncle who scuttles him into the safe keeping of a network of men who work in secret to protect the virtue and morality of the world (The Order).
The Order unites around Jordan's cause, and together they work to solve a new puzzle: How to save the life of a politician when skilled assassins are due to collect. Jordan and the Order uncover new information. The contract has a time limit. If they can keep the politician alive beyond the expiration date, no one can collect. But they must figure a way to convince an untrusting politician to go into hiding and leave the public spotlight.
While the Order works to protect the politician, Jordan discovers that there is a second way to end the contract. Jordan and Beverly cross paths several times. Drama and action occur. Jordan learns that in order to save the politicians life, he will have to take some big personal risks.

I am fascinated by the law. The nuances confound me. In the text that follows, I will discuss why two people who meet to conduct any private business, for which they would like Fourth Amendment protections (protection against search and seizure), should pack an over-night bag.
